Working as a Service Desk Engineer
As a Service Desk Engineer, you will be part of our Service Delivery team. Within the IT Operations department, you will contribute to the delivery of services to customers by being part of our dedicated service desk, supported by standardization, clear agreements, processes, direct lines of communication, and quality control.
This role will place you right in the middle of an international, growing company in one of the fastest moving industries. But also in a department in full development, central to the automation of critical business services to our highly skilled analysts, and managed services to our global customer base.
You will perform standardized service requests, respond to incidents, troubleshoot issue reports, ensure quality of service, and become involved in further development of our services.
You will be part of an international organization, working with colleagues across the globe, including Belgium, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Sweden, UK, and more.
- Be part of our service desk which is responsible for the A-to-Z service management of the IT Operations department.
- Respond to incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure regular maintenance work on critical infrastructure is delivered in a timely manner.
- Ensure SLAs are met, KPI targets are reached, and procedures are executed correctly on all services. Be responsible for customer satisfaction across the entirety of service delivery.
- Analyze non-standard requests and issue reports, remaining the single point of contact for customers and guiding them in using our services efficiently.
- Build up an extensive knowledge of the environments and services maintained by the department.
- Ensure standardization and documentation of the workload.
- Automate the daily work where possible. Share your experience and transfer operational knowledge to DevOps teams, contributing with them to bring those improvements to fruition.

What we expect of you
- Educated to degree level in an IT-oriented field or equivalent by experience.
- Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal. Any knowledge of Dutch or French is a plus.
- You have basic knowledge of Linux systems.
- You have basic knowledge of containerization (Docker).
- You have basic knowledge of configuration management (Ansible, Puppet).
- You have basic knowledge of programming and scripting (Python).
- A basic knowledge of Active Directory is a plus.
- Cross-cultural awareness to support both customers and team members in an international environment.
- You are able to handle standardized tasks efficiently, but also able to understand and discuss complex requests and issue reports with customers directly.
- The right mindset to deliver results efficiently and qualitatively.
- You have a strong interest in next-generation technologies.
