Working as a SOC Engineer
The SOC team is responsible for managing the Managed Services for various clients in the Netherlands. As a SOC Engineer at Orange Cyberdefense you work on networks of companies that really matter. Since the focus is on the larger companies in the Netherlands, you will contribute to the realization of a secure infrastructure and a safer Netherlands!
The SOC team is divided into 2 Teams. 1 team (10FTE) which manages the various customers of Orange Cyberdefense (both managed services and technical assistance center) and 1 team (4FTE) which serves the customer Schiphol Telematics.
This vacancy is within the management team which works dedicated for our customer, Schiphol Airport.
The Schiphol SOC team is responsible for managing the Managed Services for Schiphol Telematics. Our SOC Engineers are operationally responsible for the functioning of the airport's security network. Thus, you contribute to the security of a part of the Dutch critical infrastructure.
Not only will you work in a complex infrastructure with interesting cases, you will also end up in an environment where you never sit still; where flight operations and security, in the form of network security, touch each other. The network touches everyone, inside and outside the organization, as a passenger, colleague or a business partner. As a SOC Engineer within the Schiphol Account, your duties include:
- Incident, Change Delivery management, Life Cycle management, Problem- management;
- Investigating disruptions detected by our monitoring system;
- Assisting the airport in keeping the networks up to date;
- Perform change and support requests so that we can keep the Airport's business operations running safely;
- Participate and think along with innovative, technical projects;
- Acting as the primary point of contact;
- Maintaining good customer relations;
- Staying informed of the latest developments within the field.
What we expect of you
- HBO working and thinking level and at least 2 years of experience as a SOC Engineer or similar position;
- Technical experience with at least the following vendors: Palo Alto Networks , F5 Networks, Check Point.
- A passion for cybersecurity and/or infrastructure;
- You have good communication skills, are driven and can work in a planned way;
- You are able to work independently and interact with both internal and external stakeholders;
- A certificate such as CCSE or PCNSE is a plus;
- A screening (OCD and Schiphol) is part of the application procedure;
- Due to airport regulations, the working language is Dutch;
- Participate in the standby duty on schedule.
