Working as a Program Management Officer

The Program management officer's purpose is to manage groups of related projects and other activities to deliver a series of outcomes in a coordinated way in order to realise benefits for the organisation. Program Management is the coordinated management of change through the delivery of new organisational capabilities (via projects) which transform the organisation in a way that is aligned with a strategic vision. 

That vision is achieved by embedding this change and realising specific, quantifiable benefits that are defined, planned and agreed during the course of the program. The Program management officer can lead client-facing programs which transform the capabilities of customer organisations, or internal change programs designed to implement corporate strategy.

• Successful applicants will have a deep knowledge of the corporate environment and be able to quickly adapt and perform in different organisational cultures. 
• Knowledge of the PMI Standard for Program Management or similar Program Management body of best practice is essential.
• They will have a broad range of skills in general management including financial management, strategic planning and implementation as well as a broad range of communication, stakeholder and interpersonal skills.

What we expect of you

• A good understanding of project management, however, substantial project management experience is not essential.
  
• Experience in product management or functional management which involved a broad-range of responsibility with strategic importance would also be desired. 
• Must be proficient in Dutch as well as English.
• Those who have come from previous program management roles must be familiar with the issues involved in managing benefits, project interdependencies and complex stakeholder environments.
