Working as Pre-Sales Consultant:
At Orange Cyberdefense UK, the pre-sales team act as an integral part of the sales and operational teams and develop key relationships with customers to allow us to guide, support and influence their technical strategy and project delivery.
The pre-sales consultants act as partners to the account director and account managers in the sales team, complimenting their commercial and management customer relationships with technical peers, allowing us a clear view of our customer’s goals, challenges, and roadmap across the organisation.
The principal role of pre-sales is to deliver first-class security solution designs and proposals for our customers, working with the customer to ensure that the solution implemented by our engineers is fit for purpose and aligned with requirements and our go to market strategy
Key responsibilities:
- Help with the evaluation of new technologies in the market place and ensure a high level of market awareness in our key customer accounts, make recommendations for the future and devise plans for adoption of new technologies in line with stated customer strategy, in support of our sales team.
- Help to develop and implement overall technical strategy for Orange Cyberdefense UK as a whole, understanding the company objectives and helping us to align with customer strategy and requirements.
- Be accountable for the delivery of technical sales support in order to help achieve stated company commercial objectives – share responsibility for closing technical or consultancy led sales in partnership with commercial account managers.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and industry partners at an appropriate peer level including gaining / retaining relevant accreditation and business networking opportunities and interfacing with / influencing the direction of key partner strategy.
- Work with the bid team to compose technical response to tender and other formal proposal documentation of the highest quality
What we expect from you:
- Previous and proven industry experience in pre-sales or engineering / architecture roles and be able to demonstrate at an interview a track record of skill development, experience and success in one or more of these areas.
- Demonstrate good vendor and marketplace knowledge and hold relevant accreditations and contacts. Specific vendor experience is preferred with Palo Alto Networks or Checkpoint or Fortinet or F5 Networks.
- Must have good communication and presentation skills regardless of the audience and be able to steer customer and partner thinking and influence technology decisions at the highest level.
- Security background with “hands on” experience of large security projects together with excellent conceptual understanding of IT security including firewalling, application security, insider threat, malware and social engineering, and the ability to articulate the associated challenges and approaches to audiences of all levels of experience and seniority.
- Good infrastructure knowledge, including Active Directory, UNIX / Linux or VMWare, SAN and cloud, particularly emerging cloud security approaches and CASB.
