My name is Steven. I started working at Orange Cyberdefense Belgium on the third of January 2022. After two years I thought it was time to do a short recap about my time here.

First of all I was overwhelmed by the warm welcome I had and the friendly colleagues. I started as a Network Consultant which gave me the opportunity to learn a lot of interesting topics with bits and bytes flying around my head :D In the meantime my interest in network security kept on growing, so I asked my Team Lead if it was possible to receive some time to follow courses and do some self-study to learn more about network security. And lucky as I am, it was of course possible 😊 

Orange Cyberdefense gave me the opportunity, and time, to study for the topics I was most interested in.  Thanks to that, I achieved the following certificates in quite a short time: 

In the first year: Aruba Certified Clearpass Associate (ACCA), Aruba Certified Switching Associate (ACSA), Fortinet NSE1, NSE2 & NSE3

In the second year: Fortinet NSE4, Fortinet NSE5, FortiAnalyzer, & FortiClient EMS, Fortinet NSE7, OT Security Nozomi Networks Certified Engineer (NNCE).

As a consultant, most of my time goes to projects at customers and of course studying to learn the newest technologies to provide the most knowledge possible for our customers. What I really like the most here is the atmosphere between colleagues. Whether you ‘re a Junior Consultant, Architect, Manager, … it doesn’t really matter as everybody is friendly and gives you the feeling you are welcome!
