Working as a Security Consultant
The Security Consultant is a key strategic advisor that will work to deliver proactive change and evolution of your Managed Security Services. Whilst our Service Delivery Managers / Customer Success Managers focus on SLAs, performance metrics and satisfaction, the Security Consultant focuses on the development of the service delivery itself. To drive forward your security maturity in operations and to ensure that you are utilizing all of the intelligence available (both from Orange Cyberdefense and your own business context.
Key responsibilities:
Providing consultancy services to existing clients from advising on security activity and undertaking gap analysis in detection capabilities via service reviews and ad-hoc meetings that have been qualified
Communicating technical insight of new extended capabilities to internal and external stakeholders as they become business as usual
Actively support the customer implementing measures with the goal of improving security monitoring capabilities for CyberSOC services
Working with Technical Leads, Technical Delivery Managers and Service Delivery Managers to ensure that multi-service clients are receiving advice based on all the information Orange Cyberdefense have available and helping to advise Customers on strategic, tactical and operational decisions
Being an advisor to the Customer for a current understanding of Cyber Security fundamentals, trends, technologies, best practice and emerging threats and applying that to Security Operations activities in the Detect and Respond area
Attending monthly service review meetings to present monthly service updates
Continuously consider how our methods, processes, technology and data could be improved to develop better knowledge of our customers’ environments and in so doing improve the speed, accuracy and effectiveness of the recommendations we make
Monitoring and working to continuously develop MITRE ATT&CK / Orange Cyberdefense Threat Detection Framework coverage with Customers.
This resource will have strong technical and face to face engagement experience, with experience of IT Infrastructure, Security technology, SIEM and Vulnerability Scanning services
What we expect of you:
Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent preferable
CISSP or equivalent qualification preferable
Minimum of three years’ experience in Security Operations or Security Consulting
Skills required for the position:
Ability to work as part of a team or independently with minimum supervision
Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing at all levels
The ability to multi-task and prioritise workload in a high-pressure environment
Flexible ‘can do’ approach to problem resolution
Experience with security technologies, firewalls, IPS/IDS, Web application Firewalls, SIEM, Security Monitoring
Understanding of vulnerability scanning and penetration testing, malware analysis
Experience in incident handling and response
Good understanding of cyber security fundamentals
Knowledge of Offensive Security methods and tools including Operating Systems, platforms and toolset and all elements of the kill chain including reconnaissance, port scanning, vulnerability scanning, application security, exploits, malware, lateral movement, privilege escalation and exfiltration.
An understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and its application to detection and response capabilities
